Soft wrapping and power pre-stretch - features of pallet stretch wrappers worth considering before you buy:

• Soft Wrapping: If an automated system is used to apply stretch film to a square sided pallet load, although the film tension remains constant as it emerges from the system, applied tension will be higher at the corners of the load due to their being nearer to the dispensing head. This can cause distortion and even damage if the tension at the corners is too high. A soft wrapping function compensates for the load profile to provide more consistent applied tension at all areas of the wrap.
• Power Pre-stretch: By applying tension to stretch film between leaving the roll and being applied to the pallet can extend its length by up to four times, meaning a 75% reduction in film usage, and because the film is under tension before it is applied, as it contracts it holds the palletised load more securely.
